Would all attendees who are educators in the district please identify themselves to the host or co-host for promotion to panelist status?
Shari’s talk was amazing. Every parent and teacher in Brookline should listen to this.
After so much speculation, it’s great to hear about an actual experience of running a daycare during pandemic.
Related to numbers, the largest of the camps in our sample had over 400 students on site each day. Two others had over 100 students at a time.
Would probably want a low threshold to send a child (or staff member) home initially, but if the symptom (cough) is not new, not expected to change, a doctor's note is one way to get around that - if not of course a COVID test. There could be issues with access to testing, and some people have a very clear history of cough due to asthma, for example, so it isn't always necessary.
We need access to testing with fast turnaround time in order to avoid kids and staff being out of school for extended periods.
Apologies, I wasn't clear- we definitely need rapid testing, and we need to make sure there is equitable /robust access to it- some kids will likely be getting tested frequently with underlying conditions like asthma.
Thank you to our panelists!!
@Carolyn and @Lauren - we need full compliance with other adults, IMO. At our work, if you don’t wear a mask, you have to go home.
thank you for including me in this important work. I need to drop off
Huge thank you to Stephanie and Shari and Sarita for leading our discussion today!
This meeting was particularly valuable, because of the real world experience that was presented. It would b great to send out the recording of this particular session to teachers.
